Meet Our Vocation Team
Brother David Henley, Director
Brother David Henley a native of Columbus, Ohio, assumed the position of vocation director on June 1, 2010 and is living in Cincinnati. He has been a Glenmary missioner for over seven years. "Glenmary has been such a good fit for me," says Brother David, "I can't imagine doing anything else." He hopes, as vocation director, to share the joy he has found in religious life with others. "It's exciting to be able to invite men to join what I feel is a great community with a tremndous mission and ministry!"
Wilmar Zabala, Vocation Counselor
Wilmar Zabala joined the team as vocation counselor on May 11, 2015. Born and raised in the Philippines, Wilmar moved to Seattle, Wash., as a teenager. He brings previous experience in both vocation ministry and campus ministry to his new role with Glenmary. "I feel great joy when I journey with men in their discernment," he says. "Most importantly, I'm excited about sharing with them the unique and important ministry of Glenmary to people living in the poorest rural areas of the United States."
Julie Gerver, Administrative Assistant
Julie Gerver, born in Louisville, Ky., moved to Cincinnati when she was 10, but says still "thinks of Kentucky as my Old Kentucky Home." After 15 years of mission work in Rhode Island and South America, Julie returned to Ohio, where she was married in Dec. 2014. She is a member of St. Michael Church in Sharonville, Ohio. Her interests include reading, music, dancing, and enjoying the outdoors. "I am very happy to be working here at Glenmary with so many kind and helpful people," she says.
