    Father Jerry Dorn died suddenly on Nov. 10, 2014, at his residence in Kingsport, Tenn. A missioner for 50 years, Father Jerry was a former president of Glenmary and was also deeply connected to the Glenmary Group Volunteer Program at the Glenmary Farm.

    Brother Joe Steen has established a home-repair ministry in two mission counties, through which he and volunteers assist many people in need. The other key factor: the great generosity of a Southern diocesan priest dedicated to helping the poor. He pays for most materials for Brother Joe's jobs and funds emergency financial assistance with the Glenmarian as contact person. Everyone involved is deeply thankful.

    Iowa Priest Has Helped Missions as Volunteer, Donor, Annuitant

    Longtime diocesan priest Father Jim McAlpin had two of his most unforgettable ministry experiences at Glenmary missions in 1962 and ?63, when he was a seminarian. He has been an admirer and supporter ever since, and in 2005 he established a Glenmary gift annuity. "Anything I can do to keep Glenmary's efforts going is well worth it," he says.
