Glenmary participated in Ohio-wide Adoration for Vocations

Posted: 11/2/2017

Glenmary Home Missioners, based in Cincinnati, Ohio,  participated in the statewide day of Adoration for Vocations from 11 a.m. to Noon on Wednesday Nov. 8 at Our Lady of the Fields chapel on Glenmary's main campus. The usual 12:05 p.m. daily Mass followed.

Glenmary president Father Chet Artysiewicz presided over the prayer service and benediction, which was well attended. The unique monstrance that held the Blessed Sacrament was designed and built by the late Brother Ralph Riehle during his novitiate.

The event was part of National Vocation Awareness Week 2017, which runs from Nov. 5-11. More than 70 locations statewide, and over 30 in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati participated in a holy hour of adoration on Nov. 8. Several others were to hold adoration at other times during the week.

"Parishes all over the state of Ohio will join as one church to pray for an increase of men and women in our local churches to hear and answer the call to priesthood and consecrated life," read a flyer promoting the day.
