    During this year's Easter Vigil, Les, Judie and Kaylee Sponseller all entered the Catholic Church and joined Glenmary's Maynardville, Tenn., community--three of a group of 11 new members. Their faith journey was made easier by the warm welcome and help they received from their new Glenmary mission family.

    Glenmary at 75: Still Much Work to Be Done

    In 1939, Father William Howard Bishop founded Glenmary to serve people in the neglected areas of rural America. Since then, the Glenmary priests and brothers have called together a large number of Catholic communities in impoverished counties where the Church did not exist before, and have worked to serve all those in spiritual and material need. Seventy-five years later, the need for Glenmary ministry is still great and urgent.

    New Catholics Welcomed by Missions at Easter

    Each year at Glenmary missions, a number of individuals join the Catholic Church at Easter. In 2014, for instance, two East Tennessee missions served by the same Glenmary pastoral team are welcoming 15 people. Two of them spoke recently about their faith journeys and their gratitude to Glenmary for coming to their county and changing their lives.
