So when she later became director of two nearby parishes, she encouraged her new parishioners to consider adopting a mission themselves.

    More than 6,000 college students from all over the United States came to Orlando, Fla., in January for SEEK 2013, the national conference for FOCUS (The Fellowship of Catholic University Students). Glenmary was there to connect with this growing, energetic, faith-filled group; to share the message of the home missions; to talk about the need for more Glenmary priests and brothers; and to discuss possible discernment opportunities.

    Diverse North Carolina Mission Community Celebrates January Feast Day

    The Windsor, N.C., mission is typical of Glenmary communities in its diversity, warm welcome, and respect for all people. Glenmary mission counties often include recently arrived Catholic immigrants, who bring their culture and traditions along with their faith. For example, Filipino mission members in Windsor celebrate a special feast every January with their fellow mission members as well as the larger community.
