Glenmary in the News: April 2018
The faithful service and hard work of Glenmary Home Missioners' priests, brothers and coworkers often causes others to take note. In an effort to share that notice with Glenmary's supporters, below are several stories relating to Glenmary that appeared in Catholic or secular publications during the month of April, 2018.
April 16 — Theta Phi Alpha, a sorority that designates Glenmary as its national charity, hosted a version of the Newlywed Game at The College of New Jersey. Read more.
April 23 — The Citizen Tribune of Morristown, Tenn. highlighted the Tomlinson House, a historic building on the campus of the Kingswood Home for Children. Glenmary is among the organizations that has donated time and labor to its restoration. Read more.
April 25 — Glenmary Father John Rausch was interviewed for a series commissioned by The Washington Post to find out what “America First” means to different people around the country. Read more.
April 29 — Fans of the television series Gilmore Girls may enjoy this article from The Odyssey Online, a long-form blogging platform. It asks which sorority each character of the show would join, and believe it or note, Glenmary plays a role. Read more.
Immigration Raid in Tennessee
Early this month, a raid by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Grainger County, Tenn. profoundly affected the local community, which is served by Glenmary’s St. John Paul II mission. Glenmary president Father Chet Artysiewicz released a statement picked up by The Washington Post and Glenmary Father Steve Pawelk, who was in the thick of things helping families, was quoted by several publications.
