Good Neighbors: Glenmary priests help with diocese-wide confession event
For the fifth year in a row the Archdiocese of Cincinnati is hosting a one-night confession event wherein almost every parish will be open.
On Feb. 27 from 7 to 9 p.m. every parish or pastoral region in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati will be open for confession. Glenmary president Father Chet Artysiewicz and Father Dominic Duggins are among the Glenmarians scheduled to assist by hearing confessions at nearby parishes.
Glenmary's primary ministry is to rural parts of Appalachia and the South, but many missioners assist in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, where the society's national headquarters and residence are located. While engaged in work to benefit the missions, missioners based in Cincinnati also celebrate all-school Masses at area high schools, fill in for sick or vacationing priests, or visit local nursing homes as time allows.
Glenmary Home Missioners have called the Archdiocese of Cincinnati home since Archbishop John T. McNicholas agreed to sponsor the society in 1937. Learn more about Glenmary's early days HERE.
