Glenmary offers prayers in light of recent hurricanes

Posted: 9/12/2017

Glenmary Home Missioners sent the following communication to friends and associates in areas affected by the recent hurricanes.

Our prayers are with you.

"My soul, be at rest in God alone, from whom comes my hope. God alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not fall. My deliverance and honor are with God my strong rock; my refuge is with God."-Psalm 62:6-8

In the wake of the devastating hurricanes that have tormented our nation, we at Glenmary extend our deepest sympathies and our prayers. The power behind these natural evils created devastating and widespread destruction.

As friends of Glenmary, we are especially praying for all of you in Florida, Texas, Georgia and anywhere else affected who are burdened by an overwhelming sense of loss and deep suffering. We hope that in the aftermath of these hurricanes, you can cling to God's unshakable love and trust in His providence.

As your communities rebuild, set your sights on the goodness in others and seek after the peace of God in the people around you. Trust that He who knows all things will deliver you from your suffering and bring forth a new dawn.

Our Glenmary missions in southwest Georgia were hit by the tropical storm Irma. Our missioners there will ensure that those affected in the area will be provided with spiritual and physical care. In the rebuilding that must take place, draw us together in mutual love and respect. In God's gracious name, we pray.
