A Bishop Reflects on Growing Up in a Glenmary Mission Area

Posted: 9/25/2016

Bishop Joseph Strickland of the Diocese of Tyler (Texas) says that, beyond his mother and father, it was the Glenmarians who established a mission in his small hometown of Atlanta, Texas, that helped nurture his Catholic faith. That small mission is now a thriving parish in the Tyler diocese, where he is now bishop.

He points out that without many generous supporters around this country over the years, Glenmary's sharing of the Catholic faith in Atlanta and many other rural places would not have happened--and would not be happening now.

"Make your gift today," he says, "and may God bless you!"
