An Update From the Director of Glenmary's Volunteer Office

Joe Grosek Glenmary Director of VolunteersAutumn 2011

The Autumn has been a great time for the Glenmary Farm as we continue to have groups of volunteers pass through Lewis County. But it has also been a sad time as Glenmary Father Larry Goulding passed from this world into the next.

Father Larry Goulding Passes Away

I had the privilege of working, worshiping and being in mission with Father Larry Goulding during his time in Lewis County from 2006-2011. Father Larry's kindness, sense of humor, humility, work ethic and bluntness was a true gift to us at the Glenmary Farm and to the community of Lewis County. He always amazed me. He did everything from helping with flood cleanup to whitewater rafting with the Glenmary Farm Managers and myself. He was a true servant to those in need and to the church community of Lewis County. His talks with groups were always honest and entertaining. Father Larry will be truly missed by all.

Thanksgiving Handout for Lending a Helping Hand a Success

I would like to thank everyone who made the Thanksgiving handout of food and clothing for Lending Helping Hand Food Pantry a success. This year we served 430 families and individuals with food boxes, turkeys, and other items for the Thanksgiving season. This is a record for families served at Lending a Helping Hand and it is through the work of volunteers that this is a successful ministry in Lewis County.
