Glenmary seeks a talented designer to assist in development of graphic elements for all print and digital communications for Glenmary Home Missioners.
Purpose: As part of the communications/marketing department, designer will report to the manager of communications and is responsible for design, layout and production of a variety of creative products including, but not limited to, nationally circulated Glenmary Challenge magazine, brochures, posters, web ads, direct mailings, billboards, and digital communications using various software and applications. Designer is also responsible for maintaining the communication’s department production schedule and serves as the primary liaison between communications department and printers/mail houses.
Education: Degree in Graphic Design, or equivalent discipline.
Experience: Two to three years experience in print and digital design, and electronic pre-press production is required. Experience dealing with mail houses/print shops preferred. Experience with photography and video production preferred.
Skills: Candidate must show proficiency in designing for multiple platforms in both print and digital format. A high level of skill in Adobe Creative Suite publishing software, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, to provide professional Graphic Design and layout for digital and printed marketing materials required. Must be able to update website using CMS to create and post graphics as needed. Position will include some writing. Experience with Spanish preferred.
Must be able to work on a variety of projects simultaneously with multiple clients and deadlines while managing projects through all stages of production.
Must have a working knowledge of the Catholic Church and faith and be willing to promote the Glenmary mission.

Long-term Volunteers sought
Glenmary Home Missioners is seeking five individuals to serve as long-term volunteers, aka Mountain Managers, at the Glenmary Group Volunteer program site on Joppa Mountain in Grainger County, Tenn.
Mountain Managers live on site and serve terms from three to 24 months with negotiable starting dates and breaks for Christmas and summer. Duties include: overall supervision and leadership of volunteer groups; Planning and coordination with local directors of programs for weekly activities; Renovation and rehab projects for those in need in Union and Grainger counties; Meal planning, preparation, clean-up for groups of 12-35; Purchasing food and household supplies; Sale and inventory control of program memorabilia; General maintenance and upkeep of volunteer facility; Manual labor at building/renovation sites; Nursing home visitation; Community outreach; Environmental protection and landscaping.
