Call to Mission
September 2007

September is traditionally the month when students
head back to the classroom and the students in our
missions are no exception. They have returned to a
new school year as well as religious education
classes at the local Glenmary mission. I know from
personal experience how difficult it can be to fund
these programs and to find qualified catechists to "echo God's word" to these
students. Your continued support of Glenmary's
mission and ministry makes this religious formation
possible in our missions that are located in areas
where only three percent of the population is
Catholic. I thank you on behalf of all the children-
and adults-who are taking part in religious
formation classes in our missions.

Director

New Glenmary Mission Ed Materials Available
The second of two Vacation Bible School programs for children ages 4-12, "Missionaries In Our Own Land," is now available. Please help us spread the word about this VBS program as well as all the other mission education materials we have available by checking to see if the catechist at your parish or the principal of your Catholic grade school would be interested in using them.

Ways to Partner With Glenmary
Miss Philomena Falls, 98, has made a bequest to Glenmary and established a revocable trust with Glenmary. Dave and Lisa Doseff of Virginia hosted a gathering of Glenmary supporters and others interested in Glenmary and gave them the opportunity to meet several Glenmary missioners. These are just two of the many ways Glenmary's donors are helping support and spread Glenmary's home mission ministry.

Meet Our Men in Formation
With 16 men at various stages of formation, our formation team has a busy year ahead. Father Vic Subb and Brother Tom Sheehy work with prenovices and men in the postnovitiate in Hartford, Ky., and Fathers Dave Glockner and Tom Kirkendoll are in charge of novices in Maple Mount, Ky.

Did You Know?
Our Web site presents many ways to lend a hand to Mission Land USA. And it is easier than ever to make a gift to the home missions. You can donate online, initiate regular gifts by electronic funds transfer (EFT), and make a memorial gift to remember a family member or friend.
