Glenmary Farm E-newsletter    July 2008

Joe Grosek It's summer! If you're a student, you are probably enjoying a summer break right now. Unfortunately, that's not the case for me. This summer has been anything but slow and relaxed in Lewis County. We've had groups rotating in and out and the volunteers have been doing some extraordinary work. And, in the midst of all this busyness, I've realized that there are some things that sure would make our work go a little easier so I've come up with another Wish List for the Farm. Find out what those things are and get the latest news from Lewis County in my most recent Vanceburg View. I hope you all are having a happy, healthy summer. We're all looking forward to the start of the next school year. Remember to keep me updated with your most current e-mail address so you can stay connected to the people and places of Eastern Kentucky. Until next time.

Confirmation Serving a South Georgia Mission

For the past year, Sister Mary Bordelon has been working as a lay pastoral administrator at Glenmary's mission in Metter, Ga. Sister Mary is serving one of the poorest counties in South Georgia and working to meet the needs of three populations: Anglo, Hispanic and migrant workers. Needless to say, she's never without anything to do!

Pay It Forward

Many of our volunteers say they receive much more than they give during their week of service in Lewis County. If that's the case for you, think about making a donation to Glenmary Home Missioners and help make it possible for other high school and college volunteers to have the same experience. No gift is too small and if you can't make a gift today, please keep Glenmary's home mission effort in your prayers. Without both financial gifts and prayers, Glenmary's work would not be possible.
