Celebrating Mission Month
Pat McEntee

October is Mission Month and during this month we celebrate three feasts in one day. Mission Sunday, Founder's Day and the Feast of the North American Martyrs all fall on October 19 this year. That day, and the entire month of October, is a time to pause and reflect on these three important remembrances. How will you live out your own mission? Where will your mission take you to?

-Pat McEntee, Associate Vocation Director

In Search of the Spirit
Fr. Steve

As the U.S. presidential election nears, it's important that pastors strike a balance between religion and politics when reminding members of their flock of their responsibilities as U.S. citizens. And for Glenmary missioners, the task is even larger as they view everyone living in their county as their parishioners.

-Father Steve Pawelk, Vocation Director

Thanksgiving Mission Trip

Register now for the annual Thanksgiving Mission Trip. This year's trip will take place Nov. 26-30 in Hartford, Ky. Enjoy a Thanksgiving feast prepared by vocation director Father Steve Pawelk and take advantage of the opportunity to visit a Glenmary mission and see Glenmary priests and brothers in action. There will be ample time for fellowship with current Glenmary students, as well as personal and group reflection time.

Prenovices Begin Studies in Kentucky

Glenmary's two prenovices have traveled half-way across the world to begin their formal discernment to serve the U.S. home missioners. Their desire to serve continues to inspire their vocation.

Called to Be Missionary

Father Wil Steinbacher speaks often about the workings of the Holy Spirit in our world. He wants people to see the action of the Holy Spirit first, then respond as baptized Catholics to that action in real ways. Father Wil goes beyond just reminding us of our responsibility to be missionaries. He helps people see how that looks in concrete ways through his work with the Home Mission Leadership Conference (HMLC) which seeks collaboration of religious communities with a corporate commitment to the U.S. home missions.
