God cannot be outdone in generosity. In this month's In Search of the Spirit, Father Steve Pawelk marvels at the generosity of God and people. Generosity is truly living out the vocation of us all, love. Love requires that we give of ourselves totally. Today, I encourage you to reflect on the story of the Samaritan woman in John 4. In this passage, just as he does on the cross, Jesus asks for a drink—a small offering. Yet what is the return gift if we respond generously? Rivers of living water, and "the water I shall give will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." Ponder this Scripture in your prayer time and ask Jesus, "what cup are you asking of me Lord?" Make a generous offering to the Lord and you too will marvel at the generosity of God and people. May the Lord give you peace. Keep praying.
