Parish Transitions

When Glenmary has completed its work of establishing and nurturing a parish, the parish will be returned to the pastoral care of the local diocese—and Glenmary will move on to new mission territory.When this happens, it is the expectation of Glenmary that an appropriate transition ritual be celebrated by the local parish, diocese and Glenmary.

The Department has devised a ritual and a program for all Glenmary parishes in transition back to the local diocese. Once it is known that a parish is going to be returned to the care of diocesan clergy, the Department staff will assist in making all the necessary arrangements for the transition.
