Commission on Evangelization

Glenmary Parishioners Attend 2006 NAICE

The Commission on Evangelization gives many thanks to Glenmary for providing the making it possible for 33 people from Glenmary parishes to attend the North American Institute for Catholic Evangelization in Cincinnati by providing scholarsips for housing and registration. Glenmary parishes from Arkansas to North Carolina were also very generous in helping defray the costs of transportation. And several dioceses contributed significant financial assistance as well.

Here are some reflections from those who were ambassadors from Glenmary parishes:

  • "What amazed me most was all the wonderful good works that other Catholics are doing in their communities! I have lived in a county where my Catholic faith places me in a very small minority, so I was overwhelmed to be among so many Catholics."
  • "What surprised us was the number of bishops and how approachable they were; the variety of nationally known speakers; the beautiful and different liturgies and how much the Hispanic church was represented and how it has grown in the US."
  • "Glenmary is helping St. Jude Thaddeus evangelize at a growing rate. We are better able to reach out to people of different languages, ethnicities and to share our Christian faith with members of other faith traditions."
