Glenmary Challenge

A combined 150 years of missionary service was celebrated by Glenmary in August with a Jubilee Mass and Banquet for 1999 Jubilarians Fathers Robert Berson, Patrick O'Donnell, Daniel Dorsey and Thomas Field. Throughout his ministry, each 1999 jubilarian reveals the "unique Spirit of Glenmary." Stories by Jean Bach.  

Father Robert Berson, 50 years of priesthood
"It's what (working with the poor) I joined the Glenmary community to do. There wasn't success in founding a church, but there was much success in ministering to the poor."


Father Patrick O'Donnell, 50 years of priesthood
"Working with souls and seeing the sinners who have come back...it doesn't make headlines but it's my work of priesthood."


Father Daniel Dorsey, 25 years since first oath
"You can't simply rely on being a priest-you have to be willing to go out and make things happen."


Father Thomas Field, 25 years since first oath
"It's gone so quickly because I'm enjoying myself and having fun. It's a great way to spend my life."
