Groundbreaking stirs memories
A Profound Influence
I can’t tell you how excited I was to read the article, “Missions are Building, Many are Coming” (Summer, 2008) about Scottsville, Ky., and Lafayette, Tenn.
We were part of the Christ the King [Scottsville] family from 1984 until 1989 when we moved out of state. We have such wonderful memories of that loving church family.
The church family and the Glenmary priests had a profound influence on our family. Best wishes to the new endeavor and growing family at Christ the King.

Wonderful Memories
The picture on the front cover of the summer issue excited me and brought back many wonderful memories of my nine years at Christ the King [as a pastoral associate].
The parishioners need to be commended on working together to build a new church. Their dedication and fundraisers, especially homemade spaghetti dinners in a tight, small gathering space, were well organized and to say the least, very, very tasty.
I was always asked [by people in the community]: “When is your next spaghetti dinner? I don’t want to miss it.” We had some wonderful chefs!
Now I am looking forward to the dedication and God willing, I will be there.
