Father Mike Langell and Brother Virgil Siefker are working to build a Catholic community in Bertie County, N.C. Prior to Glenmary's arrival last year, no Catholic church had ever been present in the county.

Father Pete Richardson Cleared of Sexual Misconduct Allegation
The Morgan County (Ky.) Attorney says no charges will be filed and there will be no further investigation of the allegation that surface in August of sexual misconduct with a minor. The prosecutors found "no evidence of criminal wrongdoing...."

Father Joe Gartner, Transplanted New Yorker, Dead at 91
Ordained for the Diocese of Brooklyn in 1940, Father Joe became a Glenmary Home Missioner in 1951 and spent time in almost every area where Glenmary has served. A canon lawyer, he spent his later years working at the Marriage Tribunal in the Diocese of Covington (Ky.). He died peacefully on Nov. 5.

New Vocation Novena Available
Written by Glenmarians, this new novena is a way for anyone to better discern God's call in his or her life—and to pray for vocations to missionary priesthood and brotherhood. It invokes the patronage of St. Isaac Jogues and Companions, missionary saints and Glenmary's patrons.

Summer 2005 Glenmary Challenge
50 Years of Catholic Presence in Houston, Miss.
The history of Immaculate Heart of Mary Mission in Houston, Miss., was celebrated in February as the mission observed its 50th anniversary. Founding member Ruth Agnes Crosthwait remembers when her family were the only Catholics in the area. Today, there are 150 families who are members of the mission!
