Sister Mary Bordelon and Holy Family Unite Around Sick and Those in Need
As the new pastoral coordinator of Holy Family mission in Metter, Ga., Sister Mary says that she sometimes feels as if she has three parishes. Even so, the small but committed mission community reaches out to others.

Glenmary Oath Taken, Renewed
The Glenmary community celebrated its new members when Dennis Makokha renewed his Glenmary Oath on May 23 and Aaron Wessman, Craig Digmann and Crispine Adongo took their First Oath on May 24.

Brother To Receive 2008 Brotherhood Award
Brother Dennis Craig will receive the 2008 Annual Brotherhood Witness Award from the Religious Brothers Conference in July. Brother Dennis is honored for his "compassionate service to Glenmary's senior members."

Glenmary Challenge Wins Catholic Press Awards
Father John Rausch and Father Neil Pezzulo received awards from the Catholic Press Association at the annual CPA convention in Toronto, Canada, on May 30 for their articles in Glenmary Challenge. Father John received an honorable mention in the Best Investigative Writing Analysis category and Father Neil a third place for "Best Essay in a Mission Magazine." Check out their award-winning work:
"Rural Gulags," by Father John Rausch.
"Father Joe Dean: Decent, Kind, Hope Filled," by Father Neil Pezzulo.

Appalachian Pastorals Re-released
With the re-release of two pastoral letters from the bishops of Appalachia, the Catholic Committee of Appalachia hopes to reinvigorate a sense of mission and ministry to the Appalachian mountains, a region that Glenmary missioners have served since 1939.

Brother Charles Kennedy Dead at 78
Brother Charles Kennedy, a native of Elmira, N.Y., and missioner for almost 50 years, died on Jan. 11 at the Glenmary residence in Cincinnati. An accomplished musician, he spent his last years of assigned ministry in South Georgia.

Second-Year Novices Continue Discernment
Aaron Wessman, Craig Digmann and Crispine Adongo are mid-way through their mission placement year as they continue to discernment their call to missionary priesthood and brotherhood. And they are looking foward to professing their First Oath as Glenmary missioners in May.
