Glenmary Father Don Tranel Arrives in Arkansas
Assumes pastorate of Booneville mission
CINCINNATI—Father Don Tranel will assume the pastorate of Glenmary’s newest mission community, Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, in Booneville, Ark., on July 1. He will also serve as sacramental minister of Sacred Heart Chapel in Heavener, Okla., one of three missions (St. Jude in Waldron and St. Andrew in Danville) pastored by Glenmary Father Neil Pezzulo from his base mission in Waldron, Ark.
Father Don, a native of Rockford, Ill., professed his First Oath in 1985 and was ordained in 1988. He has served Glenmary missions in Georgia, West Virginia, Oklahoma and Mississippi.
Glenmary is a society of Catholic priests and brothers who, along with coworkers, establish the Catholic Church in rural regions of the United States. Currently, Glenmary staffs over 50 missions and ministries in 14 dioceses.
