CINCINNATI—Father Tim Murphy will assume the pastorate of Glenmary’s St. Christopher mission in Pontotoc, Miss., on Aug. 29. He has spent the past 11 years as the pastor of Glenmary’s Aberdeen, Houston and Okolona, Miss., missions. Father Tim, a native of Ithaca, N.Y., professed his First Oath in 1992 and was ordained in 1993. Father Tim will also continue as director of Camp Glenmary.
Glenmary is a society of Catholic priests and brothers who, along with coworkers, establish the Catholic Church in rural regions of the United States. Currently, Glenmary staffs over 50 missions and ministries in 14 dioceses.
Prior to Father Tim’s arrival, Father Don Tranel served as pastor of Glenmary’s Pontotoc mission as well as of the New Albany mission, which was returned to the Diocese of Jackson this year for continued care.
