Glenmary Father Bob Dalton Arrives In Mississippi
Assumes pastorate of Aberdeen, Houston and Okolona missions
CINCINNATI—Father Bob Dalton will assume the pastorate of Glenmary’s St. Francis of Assisi (Aberdeen), Immaculate Heart of Mary (Houston) and St. Theresa (Okolona) missions on Aug. 29. He most recently served as the director of Glenmary’s Lay Pastoral Coordinator Program in Nashville, Tenn. A native of Rochester, N.Y., Father Bob has served Glenmary missions in Alabama, Ohio, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, North Carolina and Virginia. He has also served as director of Glenmary’s House of Studies in Washington, D.C., and as past president of Glenmary.
Glenmary is a society of Catholic priests and brothers who, along with coworkers, establish the Catholic Church in rural regions of the United States. Currently, Glenmary staffs over 50 missions and ministries in 14 dioceses.
Father Bob entered professed his First Oath in 1958 and was ordained in 1962.
Father Tim Murphy has served for the past 11 years as pastor of these three faith communities. He has been named the new pastor of Glenmary’s mission in Pontotoc, Miss., and will continue to serve as director of Camp Glenmary.
